Voltage alone is only one clue
Temperature, surface charge, battery chemistry, state of charge and vehicle charging strategy can change the reading. Modern smart-charging systems may intentionally vary running voltage. A dedicated tester can evaluate battery condition and cranking/charging performance more directly.
