Verification methodology

VeroRoad is designed to make a buying decision from vehicle + job evidence without turning a broad manufacturer claim into fake exact compatibility.

Evidence hierarchy

Tier A — explicit model-year-tool-function

117,409 U.S. relationships. Manufacturer evidence names or explicitly bounds the model-year scope, tool/tool family and function. This is model-year exactness, not automatic engine/trim/VIN exactness.

Tier B — manufacturer range

97,543 relationships. Manufacturer-published tool/function/year ranges remain separate. A Tier B SEO page also requires U.S. vehicle validation before it can be indexed.

Qualified evidence

238 engine/chassis/system rows. A qualifier-specific row only improves the verdict when the buyer supplies the qualifier it requires.

Capability / job fit

Some features are tool characteristics rather than vehicle fitment facts—oscilloscope, multimeter, J2534, CAN-FD, DoIP and similar features. VeroRoad can recommend these for the job while refusing to call them model-year Tier A without vehicle evidence.

Balanced launch expansion

The launch candidate keeps the 100K+ TPMS corpus and adds exact model-year evidence across diagnostics, active tests, ABS bleed, BMS, EPB, SAS, DPF, oil reset, SRS, throttle relearn, suspension, coding, ADAS, wheel alignment, transmission adaptation, topology, HV diagnosis and related functions. No Tier B row was relabeled to create this growth.

Vehicle identity

The owner finder uses U.S. NHTSA vPIC for make/model/year lookup and optional VIN decoding. The full VIN is not forwarded into the recommendation request after decoding.

Monetization separation

Compatibility rank is calculated before the Amazon purchase route. VeroRoad uses a verified ASIN when stored, optional exact-title API resolution where configured, or a brand+model Amazon search fallback. Affiliate status does not upgrade evidence.

Release integrity

Major data files are hashed in the release manifest. The auditor checks sources, tool/function identities, contradictory exact rows, Tier-B index gates, and commerce mappings before release.

V17 purchase decision policy

VeroRoad now grades every selected vehicle × function cell independently. A scanner is called fully verified only when every selected cell reaches the strong-evidence threshold. If that does not happen, VeroRoad shows the gaps instead of presenting generic capability as exact vehicle support.

Cost figures are also conservative: when future update or OEM-subscription costs are unknown, VeroRoad labels the number as a known-cost floor rather than assuming those costs are zero.
